Hines Creek School #4430
The first school in Hines Creek was built in 1930. It was usually the case that one teacher would take all the elementary grades, while the other took the high school grades. Some of the schools were so cold in the winter that the stoves had to be kept red hot, and the outhouses must have been a misery in the winter. Many students rode to school, sometimes three to a horse, and consequently each school had a barn to house them during the day.
